We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our established team in Rochdale. You will support the UK Management Accountant in the transactional finance team and assist with the monthly management accounts. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate seeking a hands-on role in a growing company.
The Finance Assistant Overview:
1. Review new sales orders to ensure all correct documentation has been collected.
2. Ensure decommission credits and invoices are processed promptly.
3. Distribute daily bank balances and perform bank reconciliations.
4. Assist with the preparation of monthly supplier cost packs.
5. Create and distribute weekly and monthly credit control reports.
6. Support the UK Management Accountant in preparing monthly management accounts and the Board Pack.
7. Provide support to the Purchase Ledger function as needed.
8. Assist with year-end audit preparations by creating audit files.
9. Handle large volumes of complex data and present findings clearly.
10. Monitor the finance email inbox and escalate queries appropriately.
11. Maintain and improve standardised tasks and processes.

Your Experience as a Finance Assistant:
1. AAT qualification or willingness to progress to CIMA or ACCA.
2. Experience in a transactional finance or similar role is desirable.
3. Proficiency in Excel, including formulas like VLOOKUP.
4. Track record of preparing month-end accounts, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Experience in a high-growth SME environment is a plus.
7. Ability to work autonomously and manage your workload responsibly.
8. Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and adaptability skills.
