Do you have a love of dogs and a head for organisation?
Border Collie Trust GB is looking for a dedicated and flexible individual to join our small team in a dual role as Kennel & Administration Assistant.
About Us
BCTGB is a national charity based in Staffordshire, rescuing and rehoming Border Collies and Collie crosses. We pride ourselves on providing the very best care for the dogs who come into our trust and supporting new owners through every stage of adoption.
The Role
This is a varied position, split between hands-on kennel duties and office-based admin tasks. No two days are the same – one moment you may be walking or feeding dogs, the next you could be answering adoption enquiries or updating records.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Daily care of dogs, including feeding, cleaning kennels, exercising, and monitoring wellbeing
* Assisting with training, enrichment, and socialisation
* Greeting visitors and volunteers in a friendly and professional manner
* Handling telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries
* Maintaining accurate records and databases
* General admin support including filing, printing, and updating paperwork
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* Confident and comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
* Organised, with good attention to detail and computer skills
* Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
* Flexible and able to work as part of a small, busy team
* Able to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
Experience in animal care is essential and in administration is desirable, but full training will be given to the right candidate.
Hours & Pay
* Permanent position, 32 hours per week
* Weekend and bank holiday working on rota
* Salary £12.54 per hour
