Are you a confident, adaptable professional looking to make a difference in a mainstream educational setting? We are seeking a versatile Cover Supervisor & Pastoral Support Lead to join our secondary school in the Ulverston area.
This is a full-time (5 days a week) role, perfect for someone who can maintain high standards of classroom engagement while providing the vital emotional support that helps students thrive. You will be a key member of our staff, supporting a diverse range of learners, including those with additional needs such as ASC or SEMH.
The Role: A Pivotal Bridge in Our School
In this role, you will be a visible and supportive presence across the school. Your time will be split between classroom delivery and student wellbeing:
Dynamic Classroom Cover: Leading classes across various subjects using pre-prepared materials. You will ensure students remain on task and maintain a positive, productive learning environment.
Pastoral Intervention: Acting as a "first responder" for students needing emotional support or guidance during the school day.
Inclusion Support: Working closely with the SENCO to ensure students with ASC or SEMH are accessing the mainstream curriculum effectively through tailored strategies.
Behaviour Management: Upholding the school's positive behaviour policy with a fair, firm, and consistent approach.The Ideal Candidate
Confident Communicator: You can command the attention of a classroom and build rapport with teenagers from all walks of life.
Level-Headed: You remain calm under pressure and can think on your feet when plans change.
Empathetic & Resilient: You understand the pressures modern students face and are committed to supporting their mental health and social development.
