Trainee Teaching Assistant
Location: Monmouthshire
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3pm.
Rate: Starting from £82.51
Start Date: January 2025
Teaching Personnel are happy to be working with a well-known secondary school in Monmouthshire. The students are aged between 11-16. We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join the school as a Trainee Teaching Assistant.
As a Teaching Assistant you may be supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). This may include but not limited to helping children with ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
No previous Classroom experience is needed, but a passion to work within education and a want to see the pupils develop Is a must. Any personal experience and transferable skills will be desirable.
Training will be provided in school, along with this Teaching Personnel offer many CPD courses for your continual development.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
Prepare learning materials and support the teacher.
Create a friendly welcoming environment where the pupils can thrive.
You should be reliable.
Able to build relationships with pupils and make them feel comfortable.
Take part in training and other activities offered by the school.
Help children understand daily activities and develop understanding.
Teaching Assistants should possess:
Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, teachers, and colleagues.
Flexibility and reliability, as you will be an important part of the educational team.
A friendly and approachable demeanour, allowing students to feel comfortable seeking assistance.
A genuine passion for education and a strong desire to empower children to achieve their full potential.
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
Ability to provide 2 recent references.
Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Safeguarding Level 2 (provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
