Medway Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to lead the delivery of the Medway FaME (Falls Management Exercise) Programme, supporting adults at risk of falling to live safely, confidently, and independently. Responsibilities
- Lead and support the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence‑based falls prevention physical activity sessions and education programmes.
- Ensure sessions are inclusive, supportive, and promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
- Oversee structured group activities for adults at increased risk of falling and/or living with long‑term health conditions.
- Line Management & Operations
- Provide day‑to‑day line management, supervision, and support to Physical Activity Specialists.
- Coordinate staff rotas, venues, and session schedules to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to policies, safeguarding, health and safety, and quality standards.
- Support staff induction, training, and continuous professional development.
- Identify operational issues and contribute to service improvement.
- Assessment & Risk Management
- Organise and undertake pre‑ and post‑intervention assessments.
- Identify, manage, and elevate risks appropriately.
- Promote safe participation and inclusive practice at all times.
- Work with the Senior Project Officer to develop age‑appropriate education sessions focused on strength, balance, and physical activity.
- Support service users to engage progressively and safely with physical activity.
- Programme Development
- Support innovative delivery models, including digital and self‑directed activity options.
- Encourage evidence‑based practice and learning from best practice.
- Data, Monitoring & Administration
- Ensure accurate collection, recording, and management of monitoring and outcomes data.
- Maintain records on PHAIR in line with information governance and data protection requirements.
- Partnership & Engagement
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, health providers, community organisations, and external partners.
- Promote the Medway FaME Programme, Medway Council values, and the One Medway Council Plan through collaborative working.
- Deliver talks, updates, and engagement activity to raise awareness of falls prevention.
Qualifications
- Must be able to demonstrate all essential criteria at Level A for appointment to the role.
- Must have the right to work in the UK; Medway Council will not provide a Certificate of Sponsorship.
- Must be able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
