Job Description
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) is seeking qualified candidates for our Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA). The goal of the YPSA is to establish respect and trust between children and law enforcement professionals.
Positions Available: Coordinators/Counselors will help children build confidence and work as a team while focusing on the duties and responsibilities of law enforcement personnel.
Responsibilities:
* Work under the supervision of the YPSA Director and/or Senior Counselor.
* Work from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM (flexible hours), Monday through Friday, at the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office YPSA in Chelmsford, MA.
* Coordinate with the MSO food service department regarding food orders and supplies.
* Prepare and serve food; ServeSafe Certification required.
* Work on a contractual seasonal basis from June 23, 2025, through August 8, 2025.
* Engage with children aged 9 to 12 in a positive educational environment, teaching them about public safety.
* Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
* Must be at least 17 years old prior to start date.
* Good communication skills.
* Must attend a temporary training academy.
Additional Requirements:
In compliance with federal law, all hired persons must verify eligibility to work in the U.S., complete employment verification, possess a valid driver’s license, pass a criminal background check, and be subject to random drug testing.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $17.00. No additional benefits or compensation offered.
