Position Summary
We are looking for an exceptional Retail Sales and Operations Manager to lead our team in South Devon. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with a can‑do attitude, proactive and positive, with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and WFF’s good‑fashioned service ethic. The role involves ownership of the territory, treating it as an independent business, and fostering local customer relationships while supporting national initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Happy Teams – Good Old-Fashioned Service
* Lead by example, support and enable frontline team.
* Empower and enable the team to delight customers and deliver good‑fashioned service.
* Develop and support the team to communicate our food passionately and knowledgeably.
* Create an environment where team members respect and support each other, encouraging their best performance for customers and colleagues.
* Prioritize the health and safety of team members above all else.
Costs of Local Distribution (COLD)
* Deliver agreed target for local distribution costs using labour, vehicle, depot and local marketing as key levers.
* Review monthly performance with the Regional Manager.
* Ensure all agreed actions are executed to keep the depot on target.
Growing Sales
* Implement national campaign activities for new and existing customers.
* Execute all CRM activities.
* Launch local growth initiatives (e.g., sheltered housing, CSA training) to achieve sales targets.
Community Engagement
* Engage with community organisations, local hospitals, and healthcare professionals to build local sales growth.
Essential Experience, Skills, and Abilities
* Establish exceptional relationships with customers.
* Proven sales and profitability target achievement with high service standards.
* Experience leading a team, fostering engagement and developing them toward their potential, with hands‑on support of day‑to‑day operations.
* Ability to interpret data and identify key levers for success.
Desirable Experience, Skills, and Abilities
* Retail, care, hospitality, or own business experience.
* Experience implementing and complying with Health & Safety processes.
* Experience managing employee consultation and change initiatives.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent Maths and English.
Must have held a UK manual driving licence for at least 2 years. All offers of employment are subject to a Driving Assessment, Driving Licence checks and basic DBS checks.
