Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth or Glasgow
Salary: £49,004 - £57,728 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
We are recruiting for a Lead GIS Analyst to play a central role in advancing geographic information capability within SSEN Transmission. Working closely with the GIS Manager, you will help shape and enhance our GIS systems, expanding the service we provide across a network that spans some of the UK’s most varied and challenging terrain. This is a key position for a proactive GIS professional who is ready to lead on the development of spatial data, tools, and insights that support the delivery of a reliable, modern transmission network for the north of Scotland.
You will
* Promote and develop the GIS system to expand the service offering to the wider Transmission business.
* Assist with sourcing and management of spatial data sets
* Ensure the management and upkeep of geographic information databases, associated metadata and attribute information.
* Provide GIS support and training to wider business.
* Manage a team of GIS Analysts
You have
* A degree in GIS or related field with a strong understanding of the ESRI suite of GIS software, specifically ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ESRI Enterprise solution. Alternatively, you will have GIS working experience in a relevant sector, preferably the energy sector with evidence of personal development and training in GIS.
* Experience of management and upkeep of spatial data sets and associated metadata and attribute information.
* Competent in the use of Data Interoperability or FME and have a good understanding of the spatial analysis and 3D extensions.
* Experience of creating and developing webapps and dashboards within ESRI Enterprise and ArcGIS Online would be advantageous, along with a creative proactive attitude.
* Solid numerical, written English, verbal communication, and IT skills. You will have experience in working to tight deadlines, managing your time effectively, a flexible approach and being part of a team.
