08.00-16.30 Monday to Thursday (30mins lunch break)


08.00-13.00 Friday

Roxel is an Anglo-French company that designs, develops and manufactures solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover over £200M and nearly 1000 staff, 300 in the UK.

The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield Kidderminster where we currently have a vacancy for a Finance Manager.

Assisting in the preparation of the management and statutory accounts will play a significant part of the role but there will also be a focus on the systems aspects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical Responsibilities
– Prepare Year-end accounts in line with FRS 102.
o Including integrity of the P&L / Balance sheet data.
o Group reporting, prepared in accordance with IFRS.
– Produce monthly financial accounts pack; profit and loss, balance sheet on a timely basis. Comment on variances for consolidation by Group and help drive business focus on improvements.
– Prepare annual budgets / 5-year plan.
– Complete annual statutory accounts / Tax packs. Including liaison with internal & external auditors.
– Complete year end audit packs.
– Cash management reporting.
o Monthly cashflows forecasting, reporting / variance analysis.
o Assist in the management of the treasury, including foreign accounts.
– Develop knowledge of current ERP / Finance systems, particularly how they interface and help configure the data to allow for more efficient reporting.
– Support for Payroll as required.
– Finance Policy and process development.
– Perform any other duties necessary, as requested to by the business to carry out job function.

• People Managementn
– Using SMART objectives, ensure expectations are clear to maximise efficient productivity and achievement of targets through adequate staffing levels.
– Support and document the teams’ development by carrying out regular PDR’s for team members.
– Mentor and develop the Finance Apprentice and Graduate ensuring job activities align with development scheme requirements.
– Monitor and manage attendance levels for the team, including conducting of return to work interviews and absence reviews when required.
– Ensure adequate staffing levels are met by managing leave requests.
– Address and resolve performance issues in a timely manner using techniques such as informal performance counselling up to and including disciplinary hearings as appropriate.
– Implement training and development activities in line with skills required to encourage multi-skilling.
– Provide training and guidance to employees for relevant process.
– Lead by example, providing a positive environment and influence amongst the team.
– Support and mentor the team in trouble-shooting techniques providing guidance as required.
– Encourage team working and sharing of best practices amongst the team and business.

Essential Qualifications
– Qualified (ACA or ACCA or equivalent)

Experience:

– Strong financial accounting skills.
– Team leadership.

– Commercial awareness.
– Excellent communication abilities at all levels.
– A focus on business performance and a quest for continuous improvement.
– Computer literate with the ability to develop systems and process.
