Responsibilities
* Work as a member of an AIT Operations team to produce items that conform to all quality requirements according to the production plan.
* Follow LDS (local document system) describing methods and procedures, complying with standard processes, specific area requirements, and health and safety regulations.
* Promote and adhere to Cleanroom Regulations, local health and safety requirements, and 5S policy within the work area.
* Report progress to Lead Technician / Team Lead as required and contribute to shop floor meetings.
* Maintain 5S disciplines and participate in continuous improvement activities.
* Support trainees within the department when needed.
* Be flexible and mobile across MAIT operational teams, supporting based on skill set and workload.
* Occasionally work off-site, potentially in the UK or abroad.
* Participate in shift handovers to ensure seamless job progression.
* Attend and complete training set by management.
Daily tasks include assembly and final assembly of aluminium composite panels, such as:
* Inserting panels with appropriate mechanical fasteners.
* Potting of inserts.
* Bonding brackets, equipment, and inserts with various adhesives.
* Producing work to quality standards and drawing specifications.
* Maintaining health & safety disciplines in the composite area.
* Performing self-inspection.
* Reading and understanding detailed engineering drawings and procedures.
* Using hand and air tools proficiently.
* Adhering to all company health & safety procedures.
* Maintaining high tolerance requirements, typically better than 0.05mm.
Skill Set
Essential
* Previous manual handling experience.
* Manual dexterity.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment using hand tools.
* Ability to follow procedures and work instructions.
* Comfortable working under tight deadlines with demanding quality standards.
* Initiative and previous relevant experience.
* High attention to detail.
* Experience with carbon fibre.
* Ability to interpret detailed drawings and work instructions.
* Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
* Experience working in a clean room and as part of a team.
* Relevant apprenticeship or NVQ qualification.
Desirable
* Experience in space, aerospace, automotive, or motorsport industries.
