To work as a member of the Occupational Therapy team within acute andcommunity settings. To manage a complex caseload of patients, and to takeaspects of leadership of the team you are in, and to cover for team lead wherenecessary.
Main duties of the job
In acute NHS inpatient settings, delivering autonomous occupationaltherapy services that include comprehensive assessment, evidence-basedtreatment, and discharge planning for adults with a range of physical,cognitive, and behavioural impairments. To manage complex cases across medical,elderly, surgical, and emergency departments, with a strong focus onrecommending effective therapeutic interventions. To be proficient in equipmentprovision to support functional independence and safe discharge, while alsomaintaining accurate documentation using various IT systems.

Job responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice and second opinionswithin Occupational Therapy, supporting both internal colleagues and externalprofessionals in managing complex cases.
* Conduct specialist assessments and recommendtherapeutic interventions, including the provision of equipment and minorenvironmental adaptations.
* Develop and implement tailored assessment andtreatment plans for patients with highly complex conditions, using advancedanalytical and clinical reasoning skills.
* Prepare comprehensive summaries outliningtreatment recommendations, multidisciplinary collaboration, and communityservice options to support effective discharge planning.
* Create and maintain educational resourcesrelated to Occupational Therapy for use by patients, carers, visitors, andmultidisciplinary team members.
* Applytherapeutic manual handling techniques to support patients physical andsensory rehabilitation needs.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc or MSC in Occupational Therapy.
* HCPC Registration.
* Acute NHS inpatient experience with SystemOne Knowledge.
* Membership of Royal College of Occupational Therapy (Desirable).
