Role Overview
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Operations Officer to join our Operations and Estates team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing the day‑to‑day operations of Rutherglen Town Hall, one of our cultural venues within the Central Area, ensuring high standards of customer service and excellent service delivery.
Location and Hours
Location: Central Area – Rutherglen Town Hall, Main Street, Rutherglen.
Hours: 35 hours per week. Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am‑5pm (with a requirement to cover evenings and weekends to suit business needs).
Salary and Duration
Salary Band: £47,611‑£48,633 per annum.
Duration: Permanent.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage staff to deliver excellent customer experiences.
* Oversee the event diary within the venue, including the delivery of events and identifying new business opportunities for the venue and organisation.
* Oversee health and safety compliance and operational standards.
* Programme activities and events to meet community needs, including negotiating appropriate deals with promoters and agents, plan and implement services and activities for the venues and organisation.
* Manage local budgets, control expenditure and maximise income.
* Act as Duty Manager and contribute to organisational projects. Shift and weekend working will be required to support business needs.

* Experience in an event & hospitality environment.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a positive, “can‑do” attitude.
* Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment and deliver results.
