Practice Plus Group are pleased to announce that they will be taking over the healthcare contract at HMP Garth, a Category B prison in Lancashire from 1st April 2025.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our team there from April. The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs and within this role, you'll play an integral part in providing exceptional care for our patients.
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary of £49,848 to £55,996 per annum depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide clinical leadership and management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
* Establish inter-agency working where necessary to ensure good communication.
* Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
* Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
* Ensure all complaints relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
* Confirm waiting lists are well managed ensuring minimal waiting times for patients.
* Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration.
* Set standards for care by implementing protocols and establishing health education activities.
* Maintain accurate documentation of assessment, planning and treatment of patients.
* Work closely with the Head of Healthcare ensuring that reports and other measures are accurately completed within deadlines.

Qualifications required
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council).
* BSc or equivalent qualification.
* Experience of providing supervision.
* Teaching/Mentoring experience and/or qualification.
* Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and ongoing competence in all aspects of the role.
