Overview
Decontamination 37.5 Hours & Fixed Term. Salary: Up to £51,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).
Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required. We have an opportunity for a Quality Improvement Manager to join their team of staff in the Senior Management Team.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation, and embedding of quality improvement frameworks across Decontamination Services.
* Ensure decontamination processes consistently meet national standards, legislation, and best practice (e.g. HTM 01-01, CQC).
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and safety across all decontamination units.
* Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities through data, audits, and performance metrics.
* Governance & Compliance: Provide expert oversight of decontamination governance systems, policies, and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and organisational requirements.
* Support units in preparation for CQC inspections, external audits, and accreditation visits.
* Coordinate and monitor action plans arising from inspections, audits, and incidents.
* Lead and support audit programmes, including internal audits and self-assessment frameworks.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
* Significant experience working within Decontamination Services, Sterile Services, or a closely related regulated healthcare environment.
* Strong understanding of decontamination standards and legislation (e.g. HTM 01-01, CQC requirements).
* Proven experience in quality improvement, governance, audit, or risk management.
* Experience leading or supporting inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance activity.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and identify trends.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
* Ability to influence, challenge, and support teams to improve standards.
* Proficiency in IT systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office.
* Formal qualification in quality improvement, governance, risk management, or healthcare leadership.
* ISO13485 Auditing certificate required
* Experience working across multiple sites or at a regional/national level.
* Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis and complex incident investigations.
* Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles within decontamination services.
* Teaching, training, or coaching experience within a clinical or technical environment.
