Our work matters to millions. It’ll matter to you too. Join our Balfour Beatty Property team as a Mobile Electrical FM Engineer/Multiskilled and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.
Assist the Senior Hard Facilities Manager in the delivery of hard‑service maintenance and project works throughout the Balfour Beatty estate (UK wide), including contract management and coordination.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with the client and specialist subcontractors, establishing good relationships with key stakeholders.
* Manage and coordinate facilities management subcontractors where applicable; review, implement and complete relevant health and safety documentation; deliver toolbox talks and contractor inductions.
* Act as authorised person for duties such as LV electrical, mechanical and working at heights.
* Carry out small repairs and maintenance across trades – plumbing, grounds maintenance.
* Manage the issue and completion of pre‑planned maintenance tasks, ensuring all planned maintenance is completed timely, keeping facilities statutory compliant and fully operational.
* Induct, coordinate and supervise subcontractors during the facilities management operations phase to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance.
* Prepare and review RAMS, ensuring they are suitable.
* Ensure essential spares and stocks are maintained.
* Complete all tasks in line with instruction sets, meeting required SLAs and agreed working procedures.
Qualifications
* Electrical City & Guilds 2391 Electrical testing and inspection to 18th Edition NVQ Level 3 plus City & Guilds 2360 parts 1 and 2.
* Completed recognised apprenticeship and current ECS gold‑grade card.
* Experience in the FM industry preferred.
* IT literate, able to complete company documents such as maintenance reports.
* Provide feedback to company management and maintain high standards of work.
* Good background in servicing, maintenance and fault‑finding.
* Knowledge of UK health‑and‑safety legislation, including SMSTS or similar.
* Possess full UK driving licence.
* Ability to manage diverse works and associated supply‑chain activities.
* PAT test experience required.
* Willing to work away for up to a week at a time.
* Out‑of‑hours work required as needed.
* Ability to carry out other non‑electrical work (basic plumbing, building, fabric works, etc.).
* Work independently or as part of a team.
