We’re recruiting a fixed-term role, up to 2 years, for a professional with experience in or regulating the energy sectors, including combustion plants, waste incineration and refineries. (Further details in the Additional Information document).
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance, and training.
* Develop strategy for the sectors and produce the tools to regulate, support development, and deliver environmental outcomes.
* Commission and manage external research projects where needed.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations, and other key industry players.
* Respond to incidents and provide business continuity support during incidents.
Qualifications and Experience
* Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and actively encourage consideration of diversity issues.
* Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge, and experience of the work area for the role, including knowledge of control measures for emissions to air where relevant.
* Ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies, and academia.
* Work cooperatively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
