for a driven Logistics Manager.
Job Description
As our Logistics Manager, your primary duty would be to control the movement of raw materials and
finished goods so that customers receive items complete and on time. Directly reporting into the
Operations Manager.
Main duties and responsibilities
Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers (Logistics and Waste Management suppliers)
Communicate with customers on their next day deliveries, confirming products being delivered and approximate timing
Managing area delivery days to best suit customer area volumes
Ensure efficient and effective deliveries in a cost-effective manor without compromising service levels
Maintaining customer service logs and safety records including the use of Business Micros, Microsoft office suite and any other software required for accurate capture of the required paperwork chain (delivery notes, van check sheets etc)
Overseeing logistics, warehouse and transport services including our own van fleet ensuring legal and road worthiness – demonstrating compliance and ensuring vehicle usage is logged (tracker and allocation to staff member for use)
Enforcing industry laws and regulations and company policies
Working with customer services to resolve delivery complaints
Supervising the work of the rest of the logistics team (drivers, ancillary item picking and cutting, sill welding and associated tasks)
Manual handling support for yard teams supporting the loading and offloading of materials where required
Planning and overseeing incoming deliveries
Directing the flow of the organization's materials and products
Managing and maintaining an accurate inventory of product storage warehouses.
Setting up and maintaining schedules for inbound shipments.
Working with procurement and operations manager on product selection/location
Resolving complaints and issues regarding the supply chain
Housekeeping of yard and management of waste recycling, ensuring compliance and records kept
Working with other departments in the organisation to implement logistical improvements
Overseeing the importing and exporting process of a product
Facilitating business relationships with clients and product suppliers
Planning and analysing budgets and expenditures
Essential Skills & Experience
Time management and organisational skills
Clean full UK driving license
Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
Must be over 25 for insurance purposes
Great communication skills, polite and professional with excellent customer service
Can do positive attitude
High levels of focus, energy and enthusiasm
Good manual handling skills
Preferred forklift experience
Hours
Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm
Friday 8.00pm to 3.30pm
