As one of our Vehicle Mechanics, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our JP Rentals Division. You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in top working condition for our customers. Your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail will be crucial in delivering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General repairs and maintenance for a wide range of vehicles across different makes and models.
2. Routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
3. Diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot faults in engine management systems, electrical systems, braking systems, etc.
4. Preparing vehicles for MOT to meet the required standards for MOT testing, including repairs and replacements to pass inspections.
5. Tyre fitting, balancing tyres, conducting wheel alignments, and inspecting tyre condition to ensure safety and performance.
6. Work closely with other team members to maintain smooth daily operations in a busy environment.
Are You the Right Person for This Role?
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
1. Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent qualification).
2. Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair, ideally with multi-fleet vehicles.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and address complex technical issues.
4. Attention to detail, high standards in both the quality of work and safety, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy.
5. Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical team members or customers.
6. Experience working to deadlines and achieving set goals.
7. A positive and proactive approach to your work, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership over your tasks.
8. An effective team player who is equally capable of working independently, demonstrating the flexibility to collaborate within a team while also taking initiative and ownership of tasks when working alone.
