A Financial Services client based in the North West is looking for a Mortgage Migration Business Analyst to support the migration of mortgage products, customer data, and servicing processes from legacy platforms to a target system. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and regulatory partners to ensure accurate, compliant, and low-risk migration outcomes.
This position requires strong mortgage domain knowledge, hands-on migration experience, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional and data specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Mortgage & Business Analysis
1. Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements related to mortgage product and system migration.
2. Understand end-to-end mortgage lifecycle processes including origination, servicing, collections, arrears, and redemption.
3. Analyse differences between legacy and target mortgage systems (gap analysis).
4. Define business rules for product mapping, interest calculations, fees, charges, and payment hierarchies.
Data Migration
5. Work with data and technical teams to define source-to-target data mappings.
6. Validate data transformation rules and migration logic.
7. Support data cleansing, reconciliation, and exception handling activities.
8. Review and sign off migration outputs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Stakeholder Engagement
9. Act as a liaison between business users, IT, vendors, and third-party providers.
10. Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and design reviews.
11. Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Required Skills & Experience:
Essential:
12. Proven experience as aBusiness Analyst on mortgage migration or core banking transformation projects
13. Strong knowledge of mortgage products and servicing ( fixed, variable, trackers, interest-only)
14. Hands-on experience with data migration and reconciliation
15. Strong requirements documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, user stories)
This is an initial 6 month engagement working Hybrid in the North West on an Outside IR35 basis.
