Main Duties
1. Providing nursing care for in-patients and out-patients.
2. Updating and recording observations of in-patients regularly.
3. Caring for unwell pupils in the Health Centre, including providing light meals (training on food hygiene provided).
4. Supervising morning surgeries with doctors and ensuring daily visits for in-patients.
5. Assisting with out-patient care, including triage, venepuncture, and wound care.
6. Administering medicines and treatments, including asthma and allergy care.
7. Assessing and treating minor and sports injuries.
8. Providing travel and routine immunisations.
9. Engaging in health promotion and education on various topics.
10. Conducting medicals for new pupils and updating their records.
11. Participating in training and team development, including sessions on asthma, diabetes, ADHD, epilepsy, and anaphylaxis.
12. Providing first aid to staff on-site.
13. Working flexibly on a rota basis, including late, early, and night shifts.
14. Adhering to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
15. Undertaking additional duties as needed without altering the role's core responsibilities.
16. Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
17. Understanding safeguarding procedures, as all positions are classified as ‘regulated activity’ under the latest guidance.
18. Committing to safeguarding and child welfare, including completing training and reading updates.
19. Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with related legislation.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate should have:
1. Registered Nurse status with a valid NMC PIN.
2. At least 1 year of post-registration experience, with ongoing education in nursing.
3. Desirable: dual qualification RN/Child Branch.
4. Strong understanding of the NMC code of conduct.
5. Experience with immunisations, diabetes, asthma, and minor injuries is desirable.
6. Experience in health education and promotion is desirable.
7. Experience working with young people in a school setting is desirable.
8. Good organization and attention to detail.

The nurses work a two-week rota with the following schedule:
* Monday: Week 1 - No shift; Week 2 - 14:00-22:00
* Tuesday: Week 1 - 07:30-16:00; Week 2 - No shift
* Wednesday: Week 1 - 07:30-16:00; Week 2 - 15:00-23:00 and 23:00-07:30
* Friday: Week 1 - 07:30-16:00; Week 2 - No shift
* Saturday: Week 1 - 15:00-23:00 and 23:00-07:30; Week 2 - No shift
* Sunday: Week 1 - No shift; Week 2 - 07:30-16:00
