Job Role & Key Responsibilities
To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site equipment through planned and reactive maintenance. Support continuous improvement, food safety, and compliance across all engineering functions.

Deliver planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and food standards
*
Conduct diagnostics and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
*
Accurately record all maintenance activities in CMMS
*
Perform dynamic risk assessments and review contractor RAMS when issuing permits
*
Monitor equipment performance, aiming to reduce downtime and increase reliability
*
Support site production, contribute to CI initiatives, and maintain a clean, safe engineering area
*
Actively promote safety culture (SORs, Food Safety Observations, etc.)
The ideal candidate will have
*
Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical or Electrical) - Level 3
*
Experience in a multiskilled maintenance role within food or FMCG manufacturing
*
Knowledge of CMMS and preventative/predictive maintenance practices
*
Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
*
Familiarity with hygienic equipment and food-safe maintenance procedures
*
Good communication and collaboration skills
*
Understanding of safety, food compliance, and engineering KPIs
Desirable Skills
*
HNC/HND in Engineering
*
17th/18th Edition Electrical Certification
*
IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualifications
*
CHP/ETP experience
