This role involves working as part of an in-house maintenance shift team to provide planned and reactive maintenance services across the Trust. Responsibilities include:
1. Performing unsupervised, demanding, and non-routine activities.
2. Testing and fault finding on all engineering plant and equipment throughout the hospital, including out of hours and unsupervised work.
3. Acting as 'Competent & Appointed Person' for safe operation and maintenance of boilers and other plant and systems.
4. Undertaking maintenance and repairs independently, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
5. Carrying Trust communication devices for immediate response to emergencies.
6. Providing first-line response to maintain clinical services, including 'first time fix' or temporary measures.
7. Responding to urgent situations such as lift entrapment and fire alarms.
8. Issuing permits to work to staff and contractors.
9. Supervising contractors on-site out of normal hours.
