Summary
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to embark on a career in property finance. We're looking for a motivated, intelligent and personable individual. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to study AAT level 3 while being exposed to a wide range of finance and accounting tasks.

£16,575 a year

Hours Monday - Friday 8.30am to 5pm (Degree of flexible/agile working allowed)

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You'll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Apprentice Client Accountant (tasks including but not exclusively):

* Production/Assisting with the production of Client Statements/Reporting via the T&H Property Accounting system and Excel for bespoke Client Reporting
* Assisting with Bank Reconciliations
* Posting cash/allocating funds
* Raising demands, calculating and raising account adjustments
* Liaising with Clients/Property Managers and Tenants re queries (phone/email)
* Purchase ledger tasks, processing of invoices etc.
* Dealing with general Client Account queries
* Preparation of year end service charge accounts packs and liaising with Surveyors and external Accountants re queries
* Assisting the Finance Director with the bookkeeping of Carters Group companies
* Assisting the Finance Director with production of Limited Company Accounts
* Ad hoc accounting projects

What you'll learn
Course contents
* Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
* Record and analyse financial data using the organisation's standard tools and processes.
* Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
* Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
* Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
* Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
* Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
* Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
* Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan

The successful apprentice will attend college one day per week to work towards the AAT Level 3 qualification.

In addition, they will be allocated with an assessor who will visit them within the workplace once every 6-8 weeks.

Requirements
Essential qualifications

GCSE in:
* English (grade C/4)
* Maths (grade C/4)
Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

After this apprenticeship

Following the successful completion of the apprentiship it is intended that the role would be made permanent and the individual would look to progress to become a Client Accountant. There would also be a possibility to complete further professional qualifications.
