An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tube Slipper Borer Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering company.

This is a hands-on manual machining role involving the setting and operation of slipper boring equipment used to bore and machine large tubular components to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities of a Tube Slipper Borer Machinist Set and operate manual slipper boring machines.
Bore and machine tubes and tubular components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Work from engineering drawings and job instructions.
Select and set cutting tools, speeds and feeds appropriate to the material and operation.
Carry out dimensional checks using micrometers, bore gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping within the workshop.
Assist with the safe handling and movement of large workpieces using overhead cranes where required.
Essential Requirements of a Tube Slipper Borer Machinist Previous experience as a manual machinist, borer, horizontal borer or similar engineering role.
Experience boring and machining tubes up to 10 metres in length .
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards.
Good understanding of machining techniques, tooling and measuring equipment.
A practical, methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
Working Hours of a Tube Slipper Borer Machinist Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:30 or
Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00
