 
        SHEQ Manager – Chemical Manufacturing (COMAH) Location: Merseyside Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum Type: Full-time, On-site (not remote) An established and growing chemical manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Manager to join their leadership team. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring a strong background in process safety and COMAH compliance. You’ll play a key part in driving continuous improvement and ensuring high standards of safety and operational excellence across the facility. Key Responsibilities * Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and manage associated documentation and intervention plans. * Lead and chair HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies in collaboration with relevant specialists. * Oversee and maintain site reporting systems, compiling statistics for management reports and presentations. * Develop and implement SHEQ policies, procedures, and training materials (e.g., SOPs, toolbox talks, safety alerts). * Manage occupational health and hygiene programs. * Investigate and record incidents, near misses, and cases of ill health. * Conduct internal audits and support continuous improvement initiatives. * Liaise with regulatory authorities as required. * Drive engagement and accountability across the site for SHEQ performance. About You Essential: * Proven experience in a SHEQ or HSE management role within a chemical, manufacturing, or process industry. * Strong process safety and COMAH background. * Relevant NEBOSH (or equivalent) qualification. * Knowledge of reaction chemistry. * Competent in SHEQ reporting systems and incident investigation (RCA). * Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing your own workload. Desirable: * Experience auditing ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001 systems. * Membership of IOSH, IEMA, or IChemE. * Background in chemical, waste, or petrochemical environments.
