Our Team We are growing our data team to enable UKTV to optimise its digital transformation and maximise our opportunities to grow our business. We work to deliver insights, analytics and data to understand our audiences, power our advertising and marketing. We have laid the foundations and are looking to expand our team to champion our customers by using data to make decisions across the business. This is a role where you will have a real opportunity to deliver the data strategy of UKTV. You will also be involved in embedding a new data stack alongside our parent company, BBC Studios.
Purpose of the role The Data Analyst will work within the data team to bring expertise which will enable our colleagues to use data more effectively when making decisions, provide greater understanding of our audiences and utilise new technologies.
In This Role You Will Get To
* Work with a wide range of departments across UKTV, supporting the delivery of our digital products, marketing, broadcast TV and our targeted advertising through analytics projects
* Contribute to developing a data culture within UKTV and BBC Studios
* Get exposure to a wide range of analytics and use cases for data.

Experience
* Has experience in using SQL and statistical software to analyse and understand consumer behaviour
* Wants to learn new data & analytics techniques and methodologies
* Will apply their critical thinking skills to tell great stories with data
Skills & Personal Qualities
* Experience in using statistics, data & analytics for customer insights and recommendations
* Strong attention to detail, a problem-solving mindset and great critical thinking skills
* Experience in using SQL and either R or Python to analyse data
* Previous experience of using visualisation software (e.g. Tableau, RShiny, Power BI, Looker)
* Able to present to stakeholders confidently and good stakeholder management skills.
What you will get to work on….key outputs and responsibilities of the role
* Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making across the business working in close collaboration with our Insight & Strategy team
* Work closely with the BBC Studios Data Team to maximise UKTV’s value from their data platform
* Work with our product teams to evaluate user experiences and with our Insight, Content, Commercial and Marketing teams to understand more about our audiences and our performance
* Create dashboards and visualisations to enable more democratised analysis
* Transform data for analysis, improve data quality and develop and maintain technical documentation
* Communicate insights in a clear and interesting way to deliver high quality data storytelling
* Provide technical expertise and acting as a point of contact for analytics queries from colleagues
* Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in digital analytics, analysis methods, data modelling, and visualization tools
