NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an exceptional manager for the role of Head of Primary Care. This post present a unique opportunity for the right candidate to work both operationally and strategically across the NHS GGC health care system. The postholder will be a vital member of the Primary Care management team and will be integral to the delivery of the Board’s emergent Transforming Together agenda; focused on improving access, harnessing digital and innovation, shifting the balance of care and improving population health. As part of this, the successful candidate will lead on delivery of the Board’s Primary Care Strategy (2024-2029).
The Head of Primary Care will provide oversight and leadership of the Board’s Primary Care Support team, ensuring it provides the highest quality support, advice and direction to a wide array of stakeholders, including independent contractors, six health and social care partnerships and the Board itself.
The successful candidate will have senior management experience and will display leadership, communication and inter-personal skills that that generate engagement and buy-in from others, including from other parts of the wider health and care system.
