We're looking for a highly skilled safety professional to lead and manage EMR's Occupational Safety Management System (SMS). This is a pivotal role ensuring our occupational health and safety practices not only meet legislation and industry standards but also support continual improvement across the business.
Main Duties of the Role:
* Managing and evolving our occupational SMS to remain fully compliant and fit for purpose.
* Leading the audit and assurance programme, ensuring robust safety performance across the business.
* Maintaining and continually improving our Compliance Register and Safety Certification.
* Providing expert advice on occupational and fire safety.
* Representing EMR at key industry forums to influence, align and innovate safety practices.
* Leading and developing a specialist occupational safety standards and compliance team.
Key Requirements for the Role:
* Substantial experience in health and safety leadership in a safety-critical environment-rail industry preferred.
* Deep understanding of UK health and safety legislation and rail industry standards.
* Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent experience).
* Chartered membership of IOSH.
* Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
* Expertise in health and safety risk management and SMS best practice.
