Due to the launch of new services and an increase in patient activity we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Inpatient Team as a Senior Staff Nurse. You will work hours per week over 3 days.
You will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, and will assess, plan and deliver excellent care based on individual patient needs.
This role is ideally suited to a registered nurse who is looking to take the next step in their career and has a desire to act as a mentor and promote a learning environment.
Main duties of the job
Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Nurse you will:
1. Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions, working within the NMC Code of Conduct
2. Work within a team, supervising and directing junior staff and deputising for Senior Staff as required.
3. When required, review the allocation of staff to the unit, adjusting the workforce to reflect activity and patient need.
4. Facilitate the training and development of staff in the ward or unit, and in other areas where appropriate.
5. Ensure that own professional development is maintained and enhanced.

16. Be a qualified Nurse with current NMC PIN.
Desirable
17. Hold a Post Graduate course in the relevant specialty.
Experience

18. Have extensive post-registration clinical experience in the relevant specialty.
19. Have knowledge of clinical governance and its application.
Desirable
20. Have experience working as a Registered Nurse on a surgical ward.
21. Have knowledge of BADS (British Association of Day Surgery).
22. Have a mentorship training and qualification.
