We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial & Management Accountant to join our Finance Department Team in Leicester or Northampton. This is a 9 month fixed term position. 1. Job Purpose The firm's Accounts department works as a team in providing an efficient accounting service to all the firm's users. The job holder is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance and assisting in managing the finance team. 2. Duties and Responsibilities Supporting with finance team projects, specifically the Accounts Payable Project (moving to Chrome River AP solution), as well as the development of new dashboards in Katchr. Producing VAT returns. Taking a continuous improvement approach identifying opportunities to improve how or what is done in Finance. Working with the Head of Finance to set chargeable targets for fee earners. Providing data and insight to support decision making in the firm. Leading of month end reporting (including preparation/review of fixed assets, prepayments and accruals). Conducting work in progress reviews with all fee earners. Assisting with payroll. Review of P11ds. Calculating employee bonuses. People management of direct reports. Responsible for purchase/nominal ledger. Partner payments/drawings. Producing management and financial accounts. Producing year end and statutory accounts. Producing tax analysis for the year end accounts. S upporting the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance. Assisting with the annual budgetary process. Preparing the firm for audit and acting as point of contact of auditors. Understanding WIP, chargeable time and fee targets. Assisting with partner queries. Managing the purchase ledger assistant and accounts assistant. 3. Technical Competencies Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts. Understanding of finance regulations and legislation. Experience of team managing. 4.
