Material Handler
Location: Cramlington
Shifts: Working - 4 days off, incl. weekends 06:00 - 18:00
Pay Rate: £13.20 + 20% shift allowance
The Raw Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, handling, and issuing raw materials to support production operations. This role ensures materials are accurately tracked, properly stored, and handled in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials against documentation
* Label, store, and organize raw materials according to SOPs and storage requirements
* Issue raw materials to production per work orders and batch records
* Accurately record material movements using inventory systems or manual logs
* Maintain inventory accuracy and support cycle counts
* Ensure materials are handled in compliance with GMP, EHS, and safety standards
* Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) if certified
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of raw material storage areas
* Identify and report damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials
* Support audits and inspections as required
* Follow FIFO/FEFO inventory practices
Work Environment
* Warehouse or manufacturing setting
* May require PPE (safety shoes, gloves, gowns, etc.)
* Physical role involving standing, walking, and manual handling
Required Skills: + years of experience
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organizational skills
* Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions
* Team-oriented with good communication skills
* Ability to lift and move materials (typically up to 40-50 lbs)
Degree/Certifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, or manufacturing preferred
*Knowledge of GMP or regulated environments is an advantage
*Basic computer and documentation skills
*Forklift or pallet jack certification preferred or willingness to obtain
