Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from our clients warehouse to a variety of properties, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Additionally, items will be required to be picked up from customers properties. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as needed. A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for this position.
To be successful the candidate must also pass with a clear basic DBS check.
Responsibilities
* Drive a 3.5t delivery van to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations.
* Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of all products.
* Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies in orders.
* Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
* Assist in the warehouse as needed, including heavy lifting and organisation of stock.
* Utilise the hand-held system provided to manage and log your days work.
Experience
* Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is an advantage.
* Experience in a warehouse environment will be beneficial for understanding logistics operations.
* Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job is required.
Shift Pattern
* This job is a 4 day week (4 x 6.5 hour shifts), to include EVERY SATURDAY and 3 other days during the week (no Sunday work)
* Rotas are provided a month at a time
* If the work for the day requires the shift to continue passed 6.5 hours, employees are expected to finish the days jobs, and overtime will be paid as necessary.
