Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Dental Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis (three days per week). The successful candidate will deliver high-quality preventive and restorative dental care, support oral health promotion, and contribute to a positive patient experience within the practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct dental examinations and assess patients’ oral health
* Provide preventive treatments including scaling, polishing, and fluoride application
* Carry out restorative procedures such as fillings in primary and permanent teeth
* Extract deciduous (baby) teeth where appropriate
* Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays)
* Offer oral hygiene instruction and tailored patient advice
* Develop and implement personalised care plans
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient recordsFollow strict cross‑infection control and health & safety protocols
* Work collaboratively with dentists and the wider dental team
Working Pattern
Part‑time position: 3 days per week
Days to be agreed (flexible depending on practice needs)
Potential for occasional additional hours to cover leave or busy periods
Requirements
* Degree or diploma in Dental Therapy
* Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
* Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
* Excellent communication and patient care skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Professional, reliable, and well‑organised
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience in a dental practice setting
* Confidence managing a varied patient caseload
* Familiarity with dental practice management software
