Project Details
The successful Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the East Midlands.
Projects may include highways, drainage, groundworks and associated infrastructure works, delivered safely, on programme and within budget for a range of public and private sector clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Overall management of civil engineering construction projects to ensure delivery to programme, budget and quality requirements
2. Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all sites
3. Managing project teams including Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors
4. Coordinating closely with the Commercial team to manage cost control, variations and commercial performance
5. Producing and maintaining project programmes, reports and forecasts
6. Managing client relationships and ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded
7. Overseeing SHE documentation and ensuring compliance with CDM regulations
8. Identifying and mitigating project risks and resolving technical or operational challenges
9. Supporting continuous improvement and best practice across project delivery
Desired Skills and Experience
This role will suit an experienced construction Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
10. Proven experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects as a Project Manager
11. Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project costs and performance
12. Excellent leadership and people management skills within a construction environment
13. Solid understanding of UK health and safety legislation and CDM regulations
14. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced construction setting
15. Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
16. A proactive, solutions-focused approach to complex engineering challenges
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
17. HND / HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction
18. CSCS Card – Supervisory level
19. SMSTS
20. NRSWA Supervisor
21. First Aid qualification
