As a Cleaner, you’ll deliver a high-quality, responsive cleaning service in line with contractual SLAs and KPIs. You’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across a variety of university spaces while working safely, efficiently and professionally at all times. What you’ll do : Cleaning designated areas thoroughly and within agreed timeframes, including daily, weekly and periodic tasks Using cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals safely in line with COSHH regulations Cleaning floors using appropriate equipment, including buffing machines where required Emptying bins and replenishing consumables such as toilet rolls, soap and paper towels Damp-dusting surfaces including desks, furniture, skirting boards, stair rails and communal areas Ensuring safety signage (e.g. wet floor signs) is used correctly at all times Keeping cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely Reporting faulty equipment, low stock levels and any health & safety concerns to the Cleaning Supervisor Wearing company uniform and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and appearance Providing cover across other areas during sickness and holidays when required Attending training and team meetings to maintain standards and develop your skills What you bring : A customer-focused mindset with the ability to work well as part of a team Good communication skills and the confidence to raise issues or suggest improvements Self-motivation and the ability to use your initiative A resilient, professional approach when dealing with challenges Flexibility to respond to occasional out-of-hours or emergency situations Willingness to support other areas of the contract and attend training or meetings at other sites when required What we offer: Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
