Overview
Associate Director - Cost Consultancy - MEP at Mace. Lead cost management services for end-to-end delivery on large/public sector and private sector commissions.
Responsibilities
* Lead on estimating and cost planning, owning and presenting cost plans.
* Lead the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
* Deliver cost management services to achieve key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing development of plans.
* Advocate safety first — maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards.
* Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and support wellbeing of the people you manage.
* Mentor, coach, and develop teams; actively network and share best practice; drive continuous improvement in cost management procedures, templates and products.
* Lead cost consultants to identify and execute opportunities that improve cost management procedures across stakeholder services.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of MEP systems, sustainability technology and modern methods of construction.
* Track record of winning and delivering work for private and public sector property clients across multiple sectors.
* Good working knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling.
* Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills; capable of building lasting client relationships and leading high-performing teams.
* Digitally savvy with the ability to work in a commercial environment and grow a cost consultancy practice.
You’ll Also Have
* Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
* Professional membership (MRICS/RICS or equivalent) and progressing toward fellowship.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen; knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks.
* Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams; stakeholder management.
* Understanding of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape project outcomes.
