The general hours of work are 40 hours per week, guaranteed. You must be flexible to work days, nights and weekends as shift patterns can vary week to week.

About the role of General Operative
This is a full-time, hands-on role ideal for someone with a background in construction or agriculture who enjoys variety and responsibility in their work.
Working within the highway maintenance environment, you will be part of a team installing crash barriers and concrete barriers around the motorway network.
You will also assist with the safe and timely delivery of plant and safety barrier materials to and from various sites. The role involves both day and night shifts, depending on workload, and requires a level of physical fitness to assist with loading and unloading.
Key Responsibilities:
This role demands a proactive, hands-on individual who is willing to support various tasks as needed. Adaptability is essential, as each day presents new challenges and opportunities.
* Installing permanent, temporary, or parapet vehicle restraint systems to industry standards
* Reading site plans and setting out lines and levels
* Handling and securing fencing materials and components
* Operating hand and power tools safely
* Assisting with groundwork and foundation preparation
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Operating mini diggers to assist with installation
* Delivery of plant and safety barrier materials
Requirements:
* CSCS card
* Valid Class 1 licence (preferred)
* Reliable and take pride in delivering great service.
* Right to work in the UK unsponsored
* Team players with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Hold a full UK driving licence (with 6 points or fewer)
* Flexible to work days, nights and weekends when required
* Able to pass a drug & alcohol test and a safety-critical medical (it's a physical job).
* Grab and Hiab experience (preferred)
* Experience with mini diggers or similar machinery
What else looks good (Not essential)
* Experience in construction or similar hands-on roles.
* Experience transporting plant or machinery
* Already have some VRS knowledge? Even better
