About Our Opportunity:
The role involves working as part of the laboratory quality team to generate accurate measurements of infeed and finished goods performance. Based at our Oldbury facility, hours are Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 6am - 3pm.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Report any health and safety issues to management
2. Understand data management, collate data, and produce clear reports
3. Have knowledge of materials properties, especially plastics, metals, and minerals
4. Perform routine analytical testing to support plant operations, including analysis of products and incoming materials
5. Analyze daily samples to determine material composition by hand sorting
6. Use sieves for sizing materials
7. Determine plastic concentrations by density measurement
8. Conduct analytical testing such as XRF for metals and FTIR for plastics
9. Carry out in-process sampling to monitor and improve processes
10. Sample water treatment processes for safety controls
11. Support other departments like process management, engineering, and production
12. Produce daily sample reports and maintain records
About You:
* Basic Excel skills
* Experience in a laboratory environment analyzing materials is advantageous
