SEN Teaching Assistant – Special School in Southampton GSL Education are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding special school in Southampton, supporting children and young people aged 2 to 19 years with a wide range of needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, physical disabilities, and complex learning difficulties. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with a highly skilled and compassionate team collaboratively to empower students to achieve their full potential. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Work closely with teaching staff and a multidisciplinary team including School Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists. Support students both in and out of the classroom, delivering engaging and practical learning activities. Help to create a positive, respectful, and supportive atmosphere where every child feels valued. Build strong, trusting relationships with students, teachers, and families to support every stage of learning and development. Play a key role in preparing students for the next phase of their life, whether that’s further education, training, or greater independence.
