This is a varied and fast paced role where you will be exposed to a wide range of information governance and data protection activities.
The Children’s Services Information Governance team supports both the department and schools across the county to meet data protection requirements, including the successful provision of the current statutory role of Data Protection Officer for schools.
Working as a key memberof the Information Governance team, you will be responsible for the provision of information governance advice and guidance to the department and to schools through direct support, comprehensivetraining programmes and on-line resources,compliance reviews and specific case work.
Do you have experience in data protection? We are looking for an inspiring individualwho can offer a 'hands-on' approach from day one, committed to providing a fantastic provision to both our internal and external customers with a focus on exceptional customer service within data protection.
We are looking for an Information Governance and Data Protection professional with experience of the following:
* Good knowledge of data protection legislation
* Experience of auditing compliance
* Advising on and reviewing Data Protection Impact Assessments
* Advising on all aspects of individual information rights
* Advising on privacy and data protection matters
* Good knowledge of responding to data protection subject access requests, including the completion of redactions

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
