About The Role of Construction & Engineering Insurance Underwriter
You will join a small, high performing team dedicated to the Construction and Engineering portfolio, where you will be responsible for delivering a profitable underwriting service to clients while working within agreed strategies and underwriting limits. You will manage risk exposure, provide support on claims, and build strong relationships with brokers and clients.
* Developing and maintaining the Construction & Engineering portfolio in conjunction with Business Development Managers.
* Performing account analysis according to underwriting guidelines, reviewing submissions, assessing risk exposures, and completing underwriting/pricing worksheets.
* Maintaining orderly underwriting files in accordance with company guidelines.
* Reviewing loss control reports and managing policy endorsement requests.
* Supporting claims processes and providing input on settlements where needed.
* Attending client/broker meetings, industry conferences, and seminars to maintain market awareness.
* Providing technical support to the wider business functions or third-party intermediaries as required.
What You Will Bring
* You will ideally be based in the North West / Manchester region
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Construction & Engineering underwriting.
* Technical knowledge and expertise in Construction & Engineering insurance.
* Highly computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office; Salesforce experience preferred.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills to maintain broker and client relationships.
* Ability to work under limited supervision while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
