Maintenance & Facilities Operative Location: Barking, IG11 Salary: Competitive Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (shifts between 07:00 - 20:00, Monday to Saturday) Work Location: On-site Full Time / Permanent Remarkable Jobs are recruiting for a Maintenance & Facilities Operative to support the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy studio site in Barking. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a proactive approach and experience or exposure to general maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and facilities support. Maintenance & Facilities Operative Role: As the on-site point of contact, you will carry out general building maintenance, liaise with contractors, and assist the facilities team with operational tasks that keep the site running efficiently and safely. Maintenance & Facilities Operative Key Responsibilities: Carrying out or supporting minor repairs to building fabric (e.g. light fittings, door handles) Assisting with or completing small-scale painting and decorating works Light landscaping duties (e.g. weeding, applying weed killer) Addressing minor potholes or surface issues in car park areas Supporting studio and production teams with general site tasks Conducting or helping with H&S checks such as emergency lighting tests, water temperature logs, and outlet flushing Supervising or coordinating visiting contractors/engineers Maintaining site logs and key records using systems such as SharePoint Collaborating with cleaning and security teams to ensure site standards What They Are Looking For: Essential: Experience or exposure to general facilities or maintenance tasks Hands-on skills such as painting, plastering, basic electrical or repair work Good communication and customer service skills Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams) A proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused mindset Desirable: Knowledge or experience with FM or maintenance systems/software Health & Safety training or awareness Maintenance & Facilities Operative Key Attributes: Able to prioritise tasks and work independently Practical, team-oriented, and adaptable Comfortable working in a dynamic, service-driven environment If you're looking for a practical and varied role where you can contribute to the smooth running of a busy studio facility, we'd love to hear from you
