Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families?
Do you have the drive to support and empower young people to achieve their full potential?
If so, Birmingham Children’s Trust wants you!
We have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Senior Social Worker.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will support our social workers in assisting children in care and those subject to live care proceedings. Your responsibilities include completing statutory assessments, supervising family time, and advising children and families on available support.
You will obtain and record relevant information, take appropriate actions, and provide practical support through home visits and community work. Additionally, you will collaborate with families, carers, and professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, and offer ongoing support.
We seek candidates with extensive experience working with vulnerable children and families in support or advisory roles, and a solid knowledge of safeguarding, children’s services processes, and legislation.
We are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (2023), with recent monitoring visits in 2024 confirming positive findings in our Children in Care Service.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham. Candidates must reside within a suitable commute and have the right-to-work documentation; we do not support sponsorship.
Interview dates: 17th September and 2nd October, held onsite at our offices.
