Job Description
Dynamic and results-driven Hotel Manager with a proven track record of leading luxury, city-centre properties to exceptional levels of guest satisfaction, profitability, and brand distinction. Expert in managing bespoke, non-branded operations where individuality, service excellence, and local character define the guest experience. Skilled in strategic planning, revenue optimization, and fostering a culture of hospitality that aligns with Splendid Hospitality’s values of Honest, Nimble, Brilliant and Open. Adept at developing high-performing teams, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering five-star standards across all departments while maintaining a unique, independent identity that distinguishes the property in a competitive market.
You will have proven experience in
1. Senior hotel management within a luxury (4* or 5*) environment.
2. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
3. Excellent financial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs.
4. In-depth understanding of hospitality operations, guest service standards, and brand management.
5. Ability to inspire and motivate a large, multi-departmental team.
6. Knowledge of Yorkshire’s hospitality market and luxury travel trends is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Maintenance.
Ensure smooth coordination between departments to deliver seamless guest experiences.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, licensing, and employment regulations.
5 over 7 day coverage including weekends and evening
Being the decision maker in the GM’s absence
Key contributor to both Leadership team and Commercial team
Guest Experience
Uphold and continuously enhance the hotel’s 5-star service standards.
Anticipate and respond promptly to guest feedback, ensuring service recovery and guest loyalty.
Foster a culture of personalised service and attention to detail consistent with The Grand’s brand values.
Financial Management
Support the General Manager in achieving financial targets including revenue growth, profit margins, and cost control.
Monitor departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
Drive revenue opportunities through upselling, F&B innovations, and effective yield management.
People Leadership
Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of department heads
Champion a culture of learning, wellbeing, and professional development.
Ensure effective recruitment, training, and performance management aligned with The Grand’s standards.
Brand and Standards
Maintain the hotel’s position as Yorkshire’s leading luxury destination.
Represent The Grand professionally in the local community, tourism bodies, and industry events.
