Burton Recruitment is delighted to partner with a highly regarded law firm in the NorthWest in their appointment of a Head of Restructuring & Insolvency.
The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead and shape the strategic direction of an established restructuring and insolvency practice within a firm that combines technical excellence with a genuinely collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
You will take responsibility for an existing team with significant scope to build and develop the practice in line with your vision. The firm is committed to substantial investment in growth, offering the platform, resources and autonomy to create something meaningful.
The Practice
The role encompasses the full spectrum of restructuring and insolvency work, with an equal balance of contentious and non-contentious matters. You will advise:
* Insolvency practitioners on all aspects of formal insolvency processes, including administrations, liquidations, receiverships and CVAs
* Companies and directors navigating financial distress, restructuring options and turnaround strategies
* Secured and unsecured creditors seeking to protect and maximise recoveries
* Banks, lenders and financial institutions on enforcement, security and exposure management
* Stakeholders on director duties, wrongful trading risks and asset tracing
The firm serves a diverse client base ranging from owner-managed businesses and SMEs through to substantial corporate entities, with access to an established referral network across complementary practice areas including corporate, banking, property and dispute resolution.

About You
We are seeking an accomplished restructuring and insolvency lawyer, likely at Partner or senior Director level, with the credentials and credibility to lead a practice.
You will demonstrate:
* A strong technical foundation across both contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters
* An established reputation and portable practice, with genuine business development capability
* Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor, develop and inspire a growing team
* Commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial approach to practice development
* Alignment with a culture that prioritises client service, integrity and collaboration
Candidates from Top 100, regional or national firms with relevant experience will be considered.
