Role Summary
As a Senior Static Mechanical Engineer at Mitsubishi Chemical, you will be a subject matter expert responsible for your field. You will ensure that project objectives are met, working with static equipment such as reactors, distillation/separation columns, and heat exchangers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a team working towards a common goal.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Subject Matter Expert for the Global Strategic Project; ensure the technical integrity of static mechanical equipment and packages, verifying correct installation per manufacturer and design specifications.
* Approve Technical Bid Evaluations and recommendations for the project.
* Provide technical guidance and support to engineering contractors.
* Assist in vendor identification, assessment, and selection for static mechanical equipment, packaged or not.
* Specify and procure technically robust and cost-effective equipment/packages, liaising with process licensors and project team members.
* Support plant commissioning activities at the site.
* Define quality requirements, inspections, test plans, and acceptance criteria for equipment specifications.

Qualifications/Experience
* Extensive static mechanical engineering experience in the chemicals or petrochemicals industry and complex projects.
* Degree qualified (or equivalent), UK Chartered mechanical engineer preferred.
* Experience with complex engineering issues involving design contractors, process licensors, vendors, and site reps.
* Willingness to travel to various locations.
