️ Structural Engineer – Iron & Steel Plants
Purpose:
Design and analyze safe, sustainable, and cost-effective structures for iron and steel facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce and review technical documentation (drawings, specifications, calculations, manuals).
2. Lead structural aspects of projects, ensuring technical integrity and commercial viability.
3. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
4. Conduct structural calculations and review civil engineering aspects.
5. Oversee manufacturing, testing, and installation of structures.
6. Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments.
7. Advise on construction methodologies and best practices.
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong understanding of heavy industry turnkey projects.
* Proficient in structural design and calculations (MathCAD, Excel).
* Basic CAD skills (Autodesk preferred); advanced 3D CAD skills are a plus.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years in industrial structural engineering.
* Degree in Structural Engineering preferred; HNC/HND considered.
* Experience in heavy industry or the iron & steel sector is desirable.
* Experience with project lifecycle and professional memberships are advantageous.
