We work across Main Outpatients, Breast Clinics, Orthopaedic Outpatients and procedure clinics within our Treatment Centre. Our goal is to provide high‑quality, compassionate care to patients attending the Outpatients Department under the supervision of registered nurses and clinical staff. The role supports clinical, administrative and patient service duties to ensure smooth, efficient outpatient services.
Visa & Sponsorship
We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; applicants must have a minimum of 6 months before the visa expires at the start of employment. Non‑UK or Irish applicants should check visa eligibility and the role’s sponsorship status before applying. We are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship to non‑UK residents.
Responsibilities
* Prepare clinic rooms and equipment before patient arrival.
* Escort patients to and from waiting areas and assist with mobility needs.
* Carry out basic observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO₂, urinalysis) and report abnormalities.
* Assist with clinical procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, minor operations and wound care.
* Chaperone patients during intimate examinations or procedures.
* Maintain accurate records in line with Trust documentation standards.
* Clean and restock clinical areas in accordance with infection prevention policy.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Direct Care or a Care Certificate.
* Successful completion of the Be AWARE to Care course (or equivalent).
* Level 2 qualification in functional maths and English.
* Demonstrated evidence of Senior Clinical Support Worker competencies (Appendix 1).
* Evidence of Band 2 competency.
* Competence in recording of clinical sign observations.
* Basic IT skills (e.g., e‑mail).
Desirable Skills
* Understanding of roles and responsibilities of the post.
* Understanding of principles of effective customer care.
* Working as part of a team.
* Understanding of the importance of quality care.
* Good verbal and non‑verbal communication skills with patients of varying levels of understanding.
* Literacy and numeracy skills.
* Ability to present factual information and refer questions to others when appropriate.
* Ability to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
* Competence in venepuncture, cannula insertion and ECG recording.
* Blood glucose monitoring.
Experience
* Previous experience within a healthcare or care setting (essential).
* Previous experience in a specialty such as respiratory or dementia care (desirable).
