About the Role
Its exciting times at Churchill Estates Management (CEM) as we enter a new phase of growth. As we continue to expand, we're creating a HR team to specifically support CEM and the role of Head of HR will shape our people strategy while remaining closely connected to the day-to-day reality of our teams.
It is not a purely strategic role, and it's not just operational either. We're looking for someone who thrives in both worlds - a people partner who can define strategy that drives the business forward while also rolling up their sleeves to complex employee relations, guide managers, and support the HR team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our people strategy supports our ambitious growth plans, while building a HR function that is trusted, practical and embedded in the business.
You will partner closely with the Managing Director and wider Senior Leadership team to shape the future of the Company, while also working within the wider group HR framework to ensure alignment with broader policies and group wide initiatives.
The role is based at our head office in Ringwood, and you are required to be onsite 5 days per week.
About you
We're looking for a hands-on HR manager who is equally comfortable shaping strategy and resolving people challenges. You will have experience of working in a multi-site business that has or is growing. Ideally you will have experience of supporting Colleagues who are stand alone in their role, and a Company who is implementing change initiatives to drive efficiencies and better working practices for both our people and our owners.
This is a true generalist position, and it is important that you can demonstrate experience of all aspects of HR from recruitment and talent acquisition, through to reward and training. It is essential that you have strong employee relations expertise and the confidence to handle complex cases in a pragmatic manner. It goes without saying that you keep up to date with UK legislation and working practices.
The role supports a small team of HR professionals, and you will have experience of coaching, supporting and supervising the team.
You will have strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility of influencing senior leadership teams. You will be confident and comfortable in putting forward HR advice and initiatives forward, advising key risks and ensuring that Directors and Managers fully understand the implications in a straightforward manner.
You will be CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, and it would be preferable if you were Qualified or Licenced in SHL or Saville Wave Psychometrics.
To carry out this role, you will require a full UK Driving Licence as you will be required to travel to our other sites, as needed.
How you will be rewarded
Competitive salary
Company car or cash for car allowance
Annual leave entitlement of 26 days, plus Bank Holidays
Day off for your birthday
