This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Senior Construction Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure that the building is delivered on time, budget and quality whilst promoting onsite health and safety including inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
* Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project
* Manage all the day-to-day aspects of construction and site engineering ensuring that safe systems of work are adhered to
* Manage the interfaces between the MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure building delivery
* Lead, manage and motivate the building construction team through implementation of best practice
* Ensure productivity reviews are being carried out and reports are available Review of engineering design deliverables, procedures & RAMs
* Ensure Management of Change for all Site activities are identified, justified and issued promptly via the Change Process
* Ensure the early implementation of Completions (ORBIT) with direct interfacing with Completions leads
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.
Essential experience of the Senior Construction Manager
* Experience of operating within a highly regulated industry, preferably Nuclear
* Ideally Mechanical but electrical and HVAC also considered
* Experienced in delivering and operating within major construction projects
* Demonstrable experience relating to stakeholder management, organisation, planning, installation, quality, health and safety
* Ability to build strong relationships with employees and contractors
* Previous experience of Joint Venture Partnerships
Qualifications for the Senior Construction Manager
* Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent working experience
* Relevant Professional Accreditation (e.g. Project Management, Construction, Engineering) and/or equivalent working experience
